Leadership Transition at St. Crispin’s Conference Center
Trueman and Wendy Hoffmeister will be stepping down from their roles as Executive Directors of St. Crispin’s Conference Center + Camp. Their departure is planned for early August 2025, following the conclusion of the summer camp season.
Below, you’ll find a message from Trueman and Bishop Poulson. We invite you to join us in prayer for Trueman and Wendy as they prepare for this next chapter in their journey. We give thanks for their ministry and leadership.
A Message from Trueman:
“It is with a heavy heart that I am letting you know that Wendy and I will be moving along from our positions at St. Crispin’s Conference Center and Camp. When we accepted the position in August of 2023, we were so delighted by the warm welcome from everyone we met across the Diocese. In our short time we have been pleased to shepherd the growth of St. Crispin’s into more than an awesome summer camp, but into a vibrant conference center serving groups from all walks of life. This is a truly special place where God is present. There are two key factors in our decision. First, I have developed some health concerns that are/will interfere with my ability to continue in an effective manner. I feel nothing but love and support from the St. Crispin’s family, but I don’t believe I will be able to give the job the focus it deserves. Secondly, and much more exciting, Wendy has been offered a faculty position in the Mathematics Department at the University of Oklahoma, Norman. This is a lifetime dream for Wendy, and we are so thankful for this opportunity. I am excited to see St. Crispin’s continuing to grow into a premier conference center and camp facility, where all people can experience God’s Grace and find respite and renewal.”
A Message from Bishop Poulson Reed:
“I am grateful to Trueman and Wendy for their leadership as Executive Directors at St. Crispin’s over almost two years. While I am sad to see them go sooner than we all hoped, it is important that Trueman address his health concerns, and I rejoice for Wendy’s new position at OU, which returns her to one of her passions, teaching. They have both done considerable work to stabilize our conference operations, grow our bookings, and help nurture the leadership of our new board. Fortunately, they will be with us through the summer camp season, finishing in early August, giving us many opportunities to thank them, and wish them well. The St. Crispin’s board, Canon Will and I will begin looking for an interim Executive Director immediately.”
