College Chaplaincies

The diocese of Oklahoma has a rich history of campus ministry. While our established ministries at the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State garner the most attention, there are many churches across the state who show amazing hospitality to students at our smaller universities and colleges. You can learn more about these communities on our Find a Church Map.

We believe that through worship, fellowship, and hospitality we can build communities where following Jesus is central to the formation and sharing of our faith journey. We may not have all the answers, but we are committed to exploring the mysteries of faith in welcoming, non-judgmental ways.

St. Augustine Canterbury Center Oklahoma State University

Here you will find a community of students from all walks of life sharing their journey of faith with each other. Whether gathering for Holy Eucharist on Wednesday evening, or fellowship on Sunday evening, we commit to, in the words of our Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, “Love God. Love your neighbors. And while you’re at it, love yourself.”

Through regular worship, fellowship, shared meals, game nights, scripture reading, and engaging campus, we are building holy friendships rooted in the limitless love shown us by Jesus Christ. When we welcome you, we welcome Jesus. Plain and simple.

St. Anselm of Canterbury University of Oklahoma

St. Anselm, referred to as Canterbury by our students, is a place of radical welcome for anyone with an inquiring mind and an open heart. Through worship, conversation, and fellowship we seek to follow the two most important things that Christ has called us to: loving each other and loving God, neither of which is easy, and neither of which comes without doubts and stumbles along the way. Yet, we remain deeply committed to these relationships by following the motto of St. Anselm: Faith, Seeking, Understanding.

Our newly remodeled building, found directly off campus, is the hub of our community. You can find us worshiping there at 5:00 p.m. on Sundays, or eating a home-cooked meal directly afterward. On Wednesdays, we gather for discussion on topics that concern college students, focusing on the difficulty of lives in transition. Any other time the building is always available to students to park for class, hang out between classes, have lunch, study, or even do your laundry.

Location: 800 Elm Avenue Norman, OK 73069
