The Episcopal Diocese of
Oklahoma invites you to the 6th Annual Bishop’s Lecture Series. The Series vision and implementation started
with Sabrina Evans’ arrival to the Diocese in her role as the Director of
Christian Formation. Sabrina saw a need
for providing opportunities for educating the wider community on the work
Christians are doing in the world. Past
speakers include Diana Butler Bass, Rachel Held Evans and Lauren Winner.
This year the Series
features the Rev. Becca Stevens. Becca is
an author, speaker, social justice entrepreneur, and priest. She is the founder
and president of Thistle Farms, a movement dedicated to supporting women survivors of trafficking,
prostitution, and addiction. Becca has been named a White House "Champion
of Change," a 2016 CNN Hero, and has been featured in the New York Times, on ABC World News and
NPR. Her newest book, Love Heals, was published
by Harper Collins in September of 2017.
Becca will
be accompanied by graduates of the Thistle Farm program who will share their stories and
experiences. There will also be products
made by the Thistle Farms women for sale at each workshop lecture. The event will be held at St. Paul’s Cathedral in downtown OKC on September 13th & 14th. Tickets are $20 for the entire event.
We look forward to
learning from the incredible wisdom of Becca and the women of Thistle Farms and
hope you can join us!
